Sailing Konukhov will receive a boat in mid-February

Famous Russian traveler Fedor Konukhov has organized a press conference in Chelyabinsk, which was dedicated to his future trans-Anlantic voyage on a rowing boat following Christopher Columbus route, which was planned for 2002, SE-Internet correspondent Boris TITOV reports.

The expedition which will last 2900 miles (almost 5200 km), starting from the Spanish isle Tenerife and ending at Anthill isle Barbados is sponsored by the Ural car factory which is situated in Miassa (Chelyabinsk region). The rowing boat "UralAZ" is being constructed by Phil Morrison in the docks near London according to special project.

The traveler said to Chelyabinsk media that he is going to England in a fortnight together with his son Oskar who is the project's manager, to monitor the construction. And these days he is going to Mali - to master camel riding as preparation to his next expedition.
