This championship was one of the most impressive ones in the history of armwrestling. Over 500 athletes from 33 countries participated in it. The brightest match of the tournament was the final wrestle in the category up to 100 kg, where sports master from Dagestan Ibrahim Ibrahimov after intense wrestle defeated Oleg Chegodayev from Kazakhstan. |
Another major event of the championship - handing the prize "World best coach" to Hassan Alikbekov (Dagestan). Half of the golden medals in men's matches were won by his pupils. Having received the prize Hassan first of all danced lezghinka on the podium and only then open champagne, pouring it over WAF directorate representatives. |
