10 world's strongest men teams will contend for the prizes of the second world tournament Russian President Cup on December, 22. Judo Federation president and Russian team head coach Vladimir Shestakov said this in his interview to SE-Internet correspondent Boris TITOV. |
The winners will receive the prize fund of $250 thousand. There will be representatives from Japan, France, Iran, Korea, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belorussia and Romania on the tournament. Russia will be represented by two teams - Siberia and Javara-Neva (St. Petersburg), the strongest European team; among its members there are world champions-2001 Vitally Makarov and Alexander Mikhailin. We should remind that it was Javara-Neva that won the prize in Magnitogorsk last year. |
Interfax central office hosted a conference on the oncoming competition. The pressmen were told that the fourth championship is to take place in 2003 in St. Petersburg - at the city's 300th anniversary. The place for Cup-2002 is not defined yet. |
