Russian championship in weightlifting is starting in Kazan in sports complex Batyr on Tuesday, SE-Internet correspondent Alexander MEDVEDEV reports.

Over 200 sportsmen and sportswomen from over 50 country's regions are expected to participate there. Among them world and European champions Svetlana Khabirova (Ufa), Marina Shainova (Krasnodar), Albina Khomich (Irkutsk), Evgeny Shigashev (Kemerovo), Vladislav Lukanin (Sochi) and other famous weightlifters.

On the first day women will contend for the prizes, on Wednesday - men in category up to 75 kg.

Russian Weightlifting Federation presidium will also meet on Wednesday.

The championship will end with superheavy weight-lifters on December, 16.
